‘Lemon Memory’ is het tweede album van het indie fuzz pop duo Liza Violet en Ryan Needham uit Leeds. Het debuutalbum ‘Ratworld’ uit 2015 werd verwelkomd als een zeer aangename toevoeging aan de garage rock shoegaze scene. Het paar ontvluchtte thuishaven Leeds om op Ibiza te werken aan de songs voor het nieuwe album. Op ‘Ratworld’ was het Ryan Needham die het voortouw nam in het schrijven van de songs. Op het nieuwe album heeft Liza Violet het voortouw genomen. Ryan legt uit: “Liza got that look in the eye and a head-down-blinkers-on thing, and only a moron would try and get in the way of that. It’s all about keeping those ideas in their purest form and diluting as little as possible.”
Met de nieuwe songs onder de arm vloog het duo direct naar Sheffield om daar het album op te nemen met producer Ross Orton (MIA, Arctic Monkeys, The Fall).
‘Lemon Memory’ heeft hetzelfde vuur als het debuut maar is veelzijdiger dan ‘Ratworld’. Maar het geluid is gevarieerder. Met ruimte voor motorik drums en psychedelica. En een aantal pure pop songs. In het voorjaar komt Menace Beach als vijfkoppige live band ook naar Nederland.
